Since 2002, CareerReady have connected employers with schools & colleges to provide young people aged 14-18 with mentors, internships, masterclasses, and employer-led activities that prepare them for the world of work. In 2018 our Managing Director, Steven Deans and Construction Director, Sean Christie signed up to be mentors and have successfully completed the first year with the pupils working in the office to complete their internships during the summer of 2019. Steven and Sean are still mentoring their pupils who are both now in their 6th Year of secondary school. Our Office Manager, Heather Miller has signed up to be a mentor in 2019 and her pupil will be coming in for their internship during the summer of 2020.
We renewed sponsorship of Paul McKechnie for another year.
Paul McKechnie’s bio - "I play full time professional golf and will be competing on the Europro and Scottish PGA tour in 2019. Career highlights have been winning the Europro order of merit and totalling 4 televised wins on the tour. I held a Challenge tour card for 6 consecutive seasons and played a full schedule on the Challenge tour on two occasions travelling to Africa, Europe and Asia in the process. I have also competed in numerous European tour events and have played with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Paul Lawrie and Stephen Gallagher to name a few. The pinnacle of my career to date was qualifying for the Open at Hoylake, at Glasgow Gailes, an unbelievable experience even though I missed out on playing the weekend by one shot. Game is currently in great shape and will be going to European tour school at the end of the season with a view to obtaining my card for the 2020 season!"
